A List Of Top Foreign Movies!

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

All top foreign movies lists are inevitably subjective by definition, but most of them do give you a sense of the best foreign films that have been appreciated across the globe. To pick up your favorite Top 100 Foreign Films, all you need to do is consult a few of these foreign movie lists and watch the movies. If you do, I bet your idea of what’s best will get blurred - simply because there are just so many of just “good” foreign films !! I won’t be surprised if you become a collector of them, just as me.

Watching movies is a very personal experience for me because I just don’t watch movies, I spend hours thinking about every detail of a scene that moved me. And I honestly think that many of the greatest films, the very best movies in cinematic history - actually originated outside Hollywood. Thoughts and debates welcome, but I learned to appreciate that language in our regular sense is a pretty imperfect medium of communication. These great foreign films have taught me to transcend the flimsy barriers of these “localized” mediums that I was so very much “used to”. Wherever there are humans, there are stories…and music…and emotions…and talent to create wonders on celluloid! And us, the fortunate beholders!

I had earlier written an entry on it, and here I come back again with many more foreign movies that I have watched since then and the saga continues. Here goes the of the very best foreign films that I think every living human should make some attempt to watch at least once in life. Thanks for being here today. I hope you will read till the end of the list of Top 10 Foreign Films, and I hope you will enjoy it.

If not anything, the simple fact that people have thought about the simple facts of life in so many different ways will amaze you. And there are all types of experimentations - you will find films where the coloring or sound is like no other, you will see sadness beyond you have ever imagined, or joy you have experienced. There are movies with no real plot, really - but they will keep you stuck to your seat the whole time just because every word, posture, thought is so detailed! If you’re not too busy watching the latest Van-Damme, you should spend some time here. Not only do they give you a quality time, they teach you what to look for in a good piece of work. I find it immensely gratifying when someone tells me they enjoyed a scene that I had also enjoyed for the same reason - its an amazing way to connect to people.

Watch these movies - these are hallmarks of cinematic art!
