South Central: Awakening, well-meaning story of life and desperation in central-city L.A. is alike in topic to (however not almost as powerful as) Boyz in the Hood. Hiroshima MOD Amour: Resnais first characteristic is a considerate, difficult research of a French film actress Riva and Japanese designer Okada, each with a bothered past, who have a concise event in postwar Hiroshima. Cast includes Emmanuele Riva, Eiji Okada, Stella Dassas, Pierre Barbaud, and Bernard Fresson. (91 minutes, 1959)

The Day the Earth Caught Fire: Knowledgeable, sponging up sci-fi tirade of steady havoc that follows while atomic eruptions start the world corkscrewing toward the sun. Judd is the journalist who first cracks the tale, with the help of Munro whom he romances. Watch for Michael Caine as a cop prompting visitors!
